Holy communion is banned in Toronto Due To COVID-19

A post on a Russian Orthodox website linked directly to Kremlin aligned website, Russia-Insider on July 6, 2020, falsely claiming that holy communion had been banned in Toronto churches was spread on social media through the month of July. According to Crowd Tangle, the post reached over 24k Facebook users.

Numerous fact checking outlets have since reported that this claim is false.

However, the same outlet continues to publish conspiracies about COVID and urges its readers not to follow public health recommendations about wearing face-masks, for example.

 

Last night, we were told that the city forbade Holy Communion, and it looks like the persecution of the Church continues . . .
