Camels Cannot Contract Coronvirus

An African website, Piga Firimbi, reported that a Twitter post suggested that camels are contracting COVID-19.
The translation of the Tweet that was originally written in Swahili translates to “Have you heard that camels are getting Corona?”

Piga Firimbi website has debunked previous claims about mass camel deaths occurring in Kenya due to COVID-19: “According to WHO, MERS-CoV is a type of Coronavirus found in the Dromedary breed of camels. The WHO report adds that MERS-CoV is a zoonotic virus, meaning it is transmitted between animals and people. The International Livestock Research Institute indicates that camels have previously been a source of human infections with the MERS-CoV disease in Kenya” but not in the case of COVID-19.
